From 8 to 10 February 2005 the II International Geomatic and Geotelematic Fair (GLOBALGEO) and the 6th Geomatic Week were held simultaneously in Barcelona.

In a joint communiqué with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the Diputació de Barcelona presented the SITMUN project.

The presentation dealt with the original motivations of the project, explained the problems many town councils were having with access to the new geographical information technologies, highlighting the case of the towns and cities of the province of Barcelona. There was a demonstration of the application pilot test by the university.
